Getting Casual With Contemporary

This working couple had lived in and loved their homestead for nearly 30 years, but now they wanted to blend the comfort of home with their aesthetic interests. The project opened up the flow of a choppy main living space to create a combined casual living area, kitchen space, and large, double-doored pantry. Making it work offered possibilities as well as challenges! Mixing warm walnut with earthy greens added an inviting backdrop to contemporary veneers, vibrant fabrics, and striking art pieces. All of this while making sure we weren’t disrupting the sense of place this family had grown accustomed to in their well-loved home.
